Facebook: A Nightmare for eDiscovery?

Facebook: A Nightmare for eDiscovery?

Congratulations to ‘The Social Network’ for winning the Golden Globe for best motion picture. Unfortunately, companies may think the ever-evolving Facebook isn’t a blockbuster. Facebook’s new Facemail, a messaging-email hybrid, could be huge headache for companies trying to maintain eDsicovery compliance. With the increased use of social media tools in the business world, companies are already bogged down with the burden of tracking a multitude of electronic data. Further problems stem from the fact that Facemail’s integrated platform will not be controlled by current email archiving solutions already in place. If eDiscovery technology cannot keep up with eDiscovery compliance regulations,  corporations may find themselves searching for the “Dislike” button.
