LLM Introduces Interactive Timelines Feature Integrated Directly Into e-Discovery and Case Management Software

Visually intuitive, interactive Timelines feature
added to Liquid Lit Manager™

Austin, Texas (August 27, 2013). Liquid Litigation Management, Inc. (LLM), providers of industry-leading e-discovery software Liquid Lit Manager™, released a new timeline feature that streamlines and simplifies the legal matter preparation process. Timelines give an advantage to legal teams by making sure that everyone is on the same page and help to quickly identify which dates or points are disputed. Timelines differs from a simple document index by reflecting the unfolding of actual case facts and providing more detailed information and analysis.

“In speaking with our clients, we identified the need for an integrated timeline tool with a clean visual hierarchy. Chronologies are so closely tied to a case that it doesn’t make sense to have them isolated in a separate product where you can’t quickly get to the facts you need,” said Faraz Zubairi, Vice President of Sales at LLM, Inc. “That’s why we decided to add this functionality directly into our e-discovery solution.” Traditionally, timelines can get messy quickly because there is no good way of displaying items in a visual manner that hold enough detail. According to Zubairi, a former Case Manager at an AmLaw 200 firm, “as a case gets more complicated and more information needs to be attached to each point, a text document or spreadsheet just doesn’t cut it anymore. Having timelines integrated within the database where you house all of your discovery documents is crucial.”Liquid Lit Manager’s new Timelines feature partners seamlessly with the Outlines feature and accompanying native iPad® app, released in early 2012. Both outlines and timelines are pivotal in preparing for depositions and crafting motions. The user enters the events of the case for a basic chronological view in Liquid Lit Manager.

They can then continue to build up related details such as witnesses, source documents, and color-coded categories. Quickly, the timeline starts to show the story of the case. An attorney reviewing the timeline then easily identifies where there are missing or disputed pieces of information. Composing outlines around asking witnesses to verify facts or fill in these holes in the case story then becomes much easier. When a source document is known and linked into the outline, attorneys deposing a witness can then pull up a linked document with one touch on his or her iPad®.
